CLASS OFFERINGS 2025

FALL 2025 CLASS UPDATE

Starting in September 2025 I will be trying something new! There’s been interest in some self-directed practice(AKA Mysore Style)from some of you, and I’d like to investigate the experience with you all! I will be holding a Tuesday Mysore Style class time beginning at 5:45pm- 7:45pm, and the Primary Series Led Class will be on the First Tuesday of the Month- Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025.

The Mysore Style Tuesdays will be the same start and end time, and the biggest difference will be not talking everyone through the Primary Series sequence as usual. This opens up the practice time to work on your own but also at your own pace, with the support of a teacher. Try it, you might like it! Don’t worry, I can provide reminders and answer any questions that may come up prior to the day.

DETAILS FORTHCOMING ON THE MYSORE PAGE. for info on the current Led Primary Series Class, see below.

ASHTANGA PRIMARY SERIES LED CLASS

FIRST TUESDAY OF THE MONTH 6PM-7:30pm AT NOKOMIS YOGA – DOORS OPEN AT 5:45PM

In this class, the student learns a set Vinyasa-style asana (yoga posture) sequence designed to condition the body and train the mind for greater concentration and clarity. A vigorous practice, there’s a beginning (Surya Namaskar), a middle (a progression of standing and seated postures) and end (backbending, followed by closing postures and rest, to integrate). Traditionally taught to a student gradually in a self -directed practice setting, this class is the “full flow” of the Primary Series sequence- with the use of Tristhana, or the three pillars of practice: Breathing, Posture and Gazing Point. Breaths are counted, postures are named, and soft inward focus of the eyes pull everything together for a moving meditation. Dance to the music of the breath, find your own practice Rhythm.

Remember to “BYO”: Yoga mat, any props you may use regularly… and a hand/dish towel makes a good strap/ bind-helper as well as keeping any sweat at bay. Also BYO- your sweet self! A clean well rested body with clothing you can move in, and a good attitude.

As always, if you’re not feeling so hot, please take care and stay home to rest. Strength and flexibility inside and out are not gained in a day (or a single practice). Healthy consistency in practice and in life is key.

Adjustments! This is entirely up to you. I always ask first, and frequently, as anyone’s boundaries and circumstances may change from class to class.
